Position Overview
The Applications Engineering Manager at Aqua-Chem provides leadership to the Application Engineering team in performing complex technical assignments such as review specifications, selection of equipment and execution of projects from receipt of RFQ through Receipt of Award and turnover to execution team. The employee will provide technical leadership to internal stakeholders. The employee will also be the technical expert in the area in which he or she is assigned.
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Location: Knoxville, TN | On-Site
Pay Range: Dependent on Experience | $115,000 - $200,000

Essential Duties:
- Performing consulting services such as technical and financial feasibility studies, innovative concept development, system choices, (circular) process design and techno-economic evaluation. As well as smart data usage, process optimization, operational business support and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical leadership to the Application Team in catering to all markets Aqua-Chem participates in
- Intensive collaboration with the sales team by providing advice and information on technical solutions. Together, you are responsible for preparing project plans and arriving at a winning solution.
- Provide technical solutions for P&ID, Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and General Arrangement.
- Review customer specifications and apply the company’s suite of solutions to meet the requirements
- Develop training material and tools needed for Application team such as sizing thermal-fluid components and systems
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders in developing accurate costing tools, standardization, proposal strategy,
- Lead the process design for complex solutions including multi-skid trains and distribution loops.
- Provide input, feedback and consultation to the executive team in strategy and its deployment
- Collaborate with international sister companies as needed in deployment of global strategy, transfer to technical knowledge, organizational and technical alignment.
- Comply with local and project specific design Codes and Regulations.
- Assist with obtaining technical quotes for non-standard equipment/components.
- Work directly with Project Engineers during technical execution of the project
- Check the work of Application Engineers.
- Mentoring and training of Application Engineers.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor
Education/Experience:
- 3+ years leadership experience or demonstrated capability
- 4-year accredited engineering degree (typically BSME or BSChE but other engineering disciplines are encouraged to apply with relevant experience)
- 10+ years of experience in the Biopharma industry is a must
- Strong technical background in Biopharma critical utility water systems and processes a must

- The ideal candidate is a skilled problem solver with exceptional resourcefulness.
- Limited international and domestic travel may be required
