Position Overview
The Automation Engineer II at Aqua-Chem works as a engineer, designer, and programmer for the Programmable Logic Controllers, responsible for designing, programming, and maintaining systems that automate processes for skid-based water filtration systems. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Electrical Design Supervisor or Director of Engineering.
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Location: Knoxville, TN | On-Site
Pay Range: Dependent on Experience and Level Hired | $80,000 - $118,000

Essential Duties:
Using P&ID’s and Electrical schematics to design control systems for use with skid-based, water purification systems
Produce PLC programming and configuration of the operator interface (HMI)
Create validation documentation and test documentation for project/manufacturing support
Assist with pretesting and Facility Acceptance Testing (FAT)
Provide remote support for Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) when required
Remotely Assist with on-site commissioning activities, troubleshooting, and field support
Write instructions for Operation and Maintenance Manuals
Provide support for aftermarket change and upgrade requests
Work with Project Engineers to integrate project-specific requirements into design where applicable
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s or associate degree in electrical engineering or STEM field preferred
5-12 years of experience with Allen Bradley Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View ME/ SE (local and network based)
Working understanding of Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP) and how it relates to electrical design, programming, and life cycle documentation5+ years of experience in skid-based stand-alone water treatment equipment a plus
Experience with Siemens TIA Portal a plus
Knowledge of Rockwell’s Automation Process HMI Style Guide a plus

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Up to 15% travel may be required
Able to work overtime as required
