The EH&S Manager at Aqua-Chem provides technical support, leadership and guidance developing and implementing; policies, procedures, and programs to achieve goals related to plant safety, health and environment regulatory compliance and corporate objectives. The primary focus is safety and health while supporting environmental actions as directed.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Location: Onsite; Knoxville, TN
Pay Range: Dependent on Experience | $85,000- $135,000/yr (Salary/Exempt)

Essential Duties:
Implements and enforces safety and health plan and procedures throughout the facility
Conducts and/or participates in required training, safety meetings, and routine inspections
Works with the Leadership Team to standardize safety practices
Leads organization in creating and sustaining a proactive Safety Culture and a strong Integrated Safety Management System
Identifies, schedules, and supports health and safety training
Ensure compliance with facility emergency response plans (including evacuation alarms, accountability rosters, and assembly points)
Continuously evaluates facilities for any hazards not previously identified or adequately controlled, initiate measures required to protect personnel, the public and the environment, and revise documents accordingly.
Monitors safety and health regulations and provides technical support to all personnel to ensure compliance with OSHA, and federal safety, and health regulations
Investigates near misses, accidents/incidents, identifies root causes, reports on the causes and solutions to ensure countermeasures are implemented in a timely manner
Participates and facilitates safety lessons learned
Perform routines safety assessments, inspections, and daily paperwork
Ensures pre-work equipment, tooling, and PPE inspection has been performed and documented
Stays abreast of new regulations and applicable laws; communicates and integrates changes or corrections as required
Familiar with Hazard Analysis (AHA, JHA, etc.) development and implementation for work tasks performed
Conducts safety orientations for visitors, new hires, and subcontractors
Tracks, trends, and reports to Leadership all leading/lagging safety indicators
Familiar with manufacturing environment, including welding, machining, forklifts and crane safety standards
Guide and direct organization toward compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations, and corporate compliance policies
Ensure timely submittal of required federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulatory reports
Perform other duties as are appropriate and as assigned by management
Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety and Health related field or commensurate experience required.
5+ years working in a manufacturing environment as the designated ES&H expert
First Aid/ CPR Certification and the ability to perform these duties
Strong technical writing skills which are customary to remediation projects, safety, industrial hygiene, incident/accident reporting, assessments and position papers.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with severe abstract and concrete variables.

Strong problem-solving skills required.
Must be able gather, analyzes and synthesize complex and diverse information accurately
Self-starter who seeks out ways to improve processes and drive standard work
Demonstrated ability to be effective in a fast paced, metric driven environment
