The Project Estimator at Aqua-Chem manages the full project lifecycle, from calculating initial construction costs, material take-offs, and bid proposals to overseeing on-site execution, scheduling, and budget management. They bridge pre-construction and construction phases, ensuring projects are profitable, accurately priced, and delivered on time.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Location: Remote/Travel

Pay Range: $65,000 - $100,000/yr (Salary/Exempt), Dependent on Experience

Essential Duties:

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project scope to perform accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.

• Prepare detailed, competitive bid packages and submit proposals to clients.

• Coordinate on-site activities, manage subcontractors, and ensure compliance with project plans, safety regulations, and quality standards.

• Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and perform job cost analysis to prevent cost overruns.

• Act as the primary contact for clients, negotiate contracts, and secure vendor quotes.

• Independently perform tasks within the project budget and schedule.

• Communicate with purchasing and project team about the parts to be delivered.

• Carry out the work according to set requirements.

• Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Education/Experience:

• 2+ years in both construction estimating and project management.

• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Foundation, AutoCAD, Excel).

• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.

• Analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• OSHA 30 preferred

• Basic understanding of water chemistry

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Enjoy travel - 70% or more travel required

• Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on cement surfaces and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat, climb ladders, and climb stairs

• Must be able to work in temperature ranges corresponding to the outside ambient temperatures

• Basic shop math and measurement skills

• Basic reading and interpretation of blueprints/drawings

• Able to work overtime as required
