The Project Estimator at Aqua-Chem manages the full project lifecycle, from calculating initial construction costs, material take-offs, and bid proposals to overseeing on-site execution, scheduling, and budget management. They bridge pre-construction and construction phases, ensuring projects are profitable, accurately priced, and delivered on time.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Location: Remote/Travel
Pay Range: $65,000 - $100,000/yr (Salary/Exempt), Dependent on Experience

Essential Duties:
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project scope to perform accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
Prepare detailed, competitive bid packages and submit proposals to clients.
Coordinate on-site activities, manage subcontractors, and ensure compliance with project plans, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and perform job cost analysis to prevent cost overruns.
Act as the primary contact for clients, negotiate contracts, and secure vendor quotes.
Independently perform tasks within the project budget and schedule.
Communicate with purchasing and project team about the parts to be delivered.
Carry out the work according to set requirements.
Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
Education/Experience:
2+ years in both construction estimating and project management.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Foundation, AutoCAD, Excel).
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
OSHA 30 preferred
Basic understanding of water chemistry
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Enjoy travel - 70% or more travel required
Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on cement surfaces and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat, climb ladders, and climb stairs
Must be able to work in temperature ranges corresponding to the outside ambient temperatures
Basic shop math and measurement skills
Basic reading and interpretation of blueprints/drawings
Able to work overtime as required
