Planning & Scheduling Supervisor - Manufacturing

The Planning & Scheduling Supervisor at Aqua-Chem plans and prepares production schedules ensuring that customer demands are met and that products are produced in a timely manner for shipment to the customer. This role also provides leadership and direction to planning and scheduling team members to ensure efficient workflow, accurate data management, and continuous improvement across the production planning function.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Location: Onsite; Knoxville, TN
Pay Range: $75,000 - $115,000/yr (Salary/Exempt), Dependent on Experience

Essential Duties:
Develops master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each product to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
Plans sequence of fabrication, machining, assembly, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
Responsible for overseeing WIP inventory.
Monitor and alter schedule for unexpected delays and unforeseen conditions. Prepares production reports.
Prepares lists of required materials, tools, and equipment and assist with the preparation of associated purchase orders.
Oversees accuracy of master data. Collects and researches data such as inventory levels, production resources, etc.
Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts in a timely manner. Prepares custom reports for management.
Develops project plans, coordinates projects, and communicates changes and progress.
Works in collaboration with Purchasing, Project Management, and Finance as it relates to transactions, general ledgers, cost studies, dollar amounts, etc.
Provides daily leadership, direction, and support to direct reports.
Assigns tasks, monitors workload, and ensures team members meet deadlines and performance expectations.
Coaches, mentors, and develops team members to enhance skills, performance, and career growth.
Conducts performance evaluations and participates in hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members.
Ensures adherence to company policies, standard work, and safety requirements.
Facilitates communication between departments by ensuring the planning team provides accurate and timely information.
Drives accountability for data accuracy, schedule adherence, and continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Participate in year-end inventory and investigate variances.
Works effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
Develops workable implementation plans.
Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience required. (APICS certification a plus)
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Demonstrated ability to be a Continuous Improvement change agent.
Strong working knowledge managing multiple spreadsheets, working with ERP systems and other manufacturing databases required.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools (Kaizens, VSM, SMED, Standard Work, Kanban, etc.), and continuous improvement techniques

Must be able gather, analyzes and synthesize complex and diverse information accurately
Self-starter who seeks out ways to improve processes and drive standard work
Demonstrated ability to be effective in a fast paced, metric driven environment
Able to work overtime as required
